Go. Now.

1) Find a local theater near you that plays independent and foreign films.
2) Check and see if they are showing Let The Right One In.
3) If so, drop what you're doing and go see it right now.

Seriously, this movie is awesome. If you don't know what it's about, all I will say is that it's a Swedish movie about a vampire. It's basically the anti-Twilight. That's all you need to know. I think it's quite probable that decades down the road this is going to be seen as a film that redefined the vampire genre.

Here's the trailer for those of you that are interested, not that it really tells you much about the film other than it involves children and people die.

You're probably familiar with the oft-quoted phrase about writing, "Show don't tell." This film is the perfect example of that. Avoid it if you're the kind of person that likes for a movie to hold you hand and explain every detail about what a character is going through. Definitely see it if you don't mind watching a story unfold visually and getting to understand complex characters and thought processes gradually over time. I wouldn't be surprised if this film gets a Best Foreign Film nomination come Oscar time, nor would I be upset if it won.
